How to prepare yourself for nose correction without surgery

If you have decided to do nose correction, also known as rhinoplasty, you might be nervous about it and that is completely normal. You have probably asked yourself the same question more than once: What if I do not like it? Do not worry! Non-surgical nose correction lasts from a few months up to a year and you can also remove the fillers if you wish. Turn that nervousness into excitement and continue reading to inform on how to prepare yourself for rhinoplasty without surgery!

Can you fix your nose without surgery?

Yes! Over the last few years, many women have chosen this method to get the nose of their dreams. There are actually many benefits of the non-surgical rhinoplasty over the surgical one. Surgical nose job itself brings many risks such as breathing problems, infections, poor wound healing, scarring, postoperative deformities, changes in skin structure and colour etc. Some other disadvantages are the cost of it, anaesthesia, bandages all over your face after surgery and long healing process. Many things can go wrong and cause complications.

How can Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Improve the Appearance of the Nose?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is also called liquid nose job or liquid rhinoplasty. After this procedure, you will still have your own nose, only the best possible version of it. It improves the appearance of your nose by giving it the shape and form you want, it can make your nose thinner or thicker, more symmetrical, straighter and give it a lot more volume. It can also smooth any bumps in your nose and make it look less angular. The results will be visible immediately and last between a few months and one year, depending on a person individually.

Nose Correction Procedure

After arriving at your doctor’s office and being laid down, you might get local anaesthesia, so you do not feel the pain caused by the needle. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is being done by injecting dermal fillers into the area around your nose and possibly your nose bridge. The dermal fillers’ base is hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluron, which helps your body produce more collagen. Collagen is a protein in your body which gives your skin volume and structure. Dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid are used to correct and fill your nose structure the way you want. The procedure lasts up to an hour and you need only an hour of recovery. Right after the non-surgical nose job, you will probably develop redness on your nose, but it will go away in a week or two and you will see some great results!

Chin Correction with Hyaluronic Acid

Chin and nose correction without surgery is basically done the same way. Dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid are injected into the bones of your lower jaw in order to augment your chin and give it more volume. The reason we are mentioning this is that the nose and chin are connected when it comes to appearance. The size of your chin will affect the size of your nose and vice versa. If your chin is bigger, the nose looks smaller. If you want to change the appearance of your nose, maybe you do not even need to make it smaller, you might need to make your chin bigger.

Prepare Yourself for a Non-Surgical Nose Job

The preparation for every single treatment may vary depending on the type of treatment. You should always take professional guidance from your cosmetic doctor on how to prepare for any type of treatment. The things we are mentioning below refer to preparation which generally applies to all types of facial cosmetic procedures.

Reduce the risk of bruising with Vitamin K

Apart from other vitamins being very important for your skin, bones and basically, everything else, when doing a non-surgical rhinoplasty, you should always be aware of the levels of vitamin K in your system. Vitamin K has the ability to reduce the risk of bruising. When having dermal fillers injected into your skin with really thin long needles, there are some chances that you might get bruises. To avoid that, make sure you eat a lot of leafy greens such as kale, spinach, swiss chard, broccoli, mustard greens, beef greens etc. Some other foods that have high levels of vitamin K are chicken, beet liver, pork chops, avocado, kiwi, both hard and soft cheeses.

Medications to avoid prior to the treatment

You should definitely avoid taking any aspirin, anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen, vitamin E, herbal supplements and any other blood-thinning medication. Do not take any of these medicines at least two weeks before “going under the needle”. Supplements of vitamin E can increase bleeding, however, there might be some other supplements affecting your skin and blood, so you should consult with your doctor about taking it.

Hydrate – Drink water!

This rule does not apply to a surgical rhinoplasty! There are certain rules on how much water you are allowed to drink before surgery and you should always follow those rules. When it comes to a non-surgical nose job, you can drink all the water you want and it has positive effects only! Since you are not going under the knife, you do not have any cuts and you are not under total anaesthesia, you are allowed to eat and drink before the procedure. Do not consume junk food, alcohol and cigarettes, try to stick to healthy food and water.

Aftercare

The skin on your face is very soft and sensitive, after liquid rhinoplasty, you will most likely get redness on your nose area, swelling, bruises, infections or even nausea. An hour after treatment, the injection will slowly begin to settle, but it will completely settle down and the redness will be gone in about two weeks. That’s when you will see the real results.
After the procedure is done, you might put an ice pack on your injected areas, if your doctor allows you to. Be ready to buy some creams, moisturizers or pain medicine, whatever your doctor prescribes. Fill your fridge with healthy food, fruits and vegetables, especially green ones! Drink a lot of water and do not expose your face to extreme temperatures.

FAQ

Is a non-surgical nose job worth it?

Yes! A non-surgical nose job is a great option for someone who is too scared to do the surgical procedure, looking for a temporary solution, wants to experiment or make sure they would like the results before permanently going under a knife.

Is a non-surgical nose job painful?

You definitely might feel some small amount of pain due to the needles and skin reaction, but generally speaking, it is considered painless. There is an option to get the local anaesthesia before beginning the procedure, so your whole nose will go numb and you will not feel anything.

How long does it take for a non-surgical nose job to heal?

It takes about 2 weeks to completely heal from a non-surgical nose job. Right after the procedure, you will develop redness around the areas where fillers were injected. That is not dangerous at all and you will be able to return to your normal life the same day. After 2 weeks, the redness will completely go away and you will be able to see your results clearly.
